About Laure Salerno

Laure Salerno is a founding partner of Salerno Law, pllc. Her practice is concentrated in civil litigation, real estate, matrimonial and family law, business formation & business law, and wills, trusts & estates. For more than 30 years, Laure has represented individuals and business entities, providing high-caliber professional advice with personal care. She solves her clients’ problems creatively and cost-effectively. Because of her wide range of experience, she provides one-stop-shopping for the legal needs of her clients.

A respected real estate attorney, Laure represents buyers and sellers of residential and commercial real property, handles real estate related litigation, and transactional matters. An experienced matrimonial practitioner, Laure handles prenuptial agreements, divorce, custody and child support matters. Laure also manages the myriad business law needs of her clients, including formation of business entities, drafting and negotiating shareholder and operating agreements, providing day-to-day advice on business law matters, and corporate governance.

Laure is experienced as both in-house counsel (to an international precious metals firm) and outside corporate counsel.

Laure began her professional career as a corporate and litigation associate at Dewey, Ballantine, Bushby, Palmer & Wood. Her work in the Corporate Department centered on leveraged leasing transactions and public debt offerings including the negotiation of trust indentures and closing documents. As a litigation associate, Laure worked on a variety of matters including an anti-trust litigation which was ultimately heard by the US Supreme Court, patent and trademark actions, and general commercial litigation.

Laure was in solo practice before founding Salerno Law, pllc. It was during this period of her professional life that Laure developed the skills to effectively represent her clients in a wide variety of practice areas, and gained the trust of clients who are business owners in fields including real estate, high-end retail sales, restaurant and hospitality, information technology, start-ups, manufacturing and art, and individuals from all walks of life, including attorneys, doctors, architects, and engineers.

Laure graduated NYU School of Law with distinction. She was a member of the National Moot Court Team 1986-87 and the Moot Court Board, and earned the Albert N. Podell Oral Advocacy Award.

Laure is admitted to the bars of the states of New York, Florida and Utah, the US District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of various State and local bar associations, and has been awarded the highest possible Martindale-Hubble AV Preeminent rating in legal ability and ethical standards, and the distinction of being among New York’s Leading Women Lawyers in 2018.
